Team Challenge FAQs
- What are the team challenges?
-
The three team challenges held every year are as follows:
- Is a team the same as an affiliation?
-
No. An affiliation is something you can define in the Profile settings for your Online Logbook. If you've selected an affiliation, all your meters rowed for the ranking season are attributed to that affiliation (grouping of rowers), and are displayed for that affiliation in the Affiliation Standings. Affiliation meter totals are reset at the beginning of every ranking season (May 1).
Teams are created specifically in order to participate in one of the three team challenges (see above). Each team needs a team captain, who then creates the team, enrolls the team in the event, and depending on how the team is defined, adds members to the team.
- How do I create a team?
-
It's easy! Just follow the instructions on our Team Administration page.
- How do I join a team?
-
As with creating a team, it's easy! Just follow the instructions on our Team Member page.
- Can someone belong to more than one team at a time for the challenge?
- No. You may only belong to one team at a time. If a team member would like to change teams, the member must first delete themselves from the original team in order to be added to the new team.
- Can just two people be on a team?
- Yes, two people can create a team for themselves if they are the only two people interested in participating in a team challenge. There is a team category for small teams of 2–5 members.
- Do on water/on snow meters count toward team challenges?
- No, on water or on snow meters are not included in team totals during the team challenges.
- Can I delete myself from a team?
Yes. To delete yourself from a team:
- Log into your logbook.
- Click Teams.
- Click Leave this Team.
Team membership additions/deletions can occur through the first two weeks of a team challenge. After the first two weeks, no further team membership changes can be made for the remainder of the challenge.
- Can I add myself to a team?
If a team has open membership, you can add yourself directly. Otherwise, the team manager will have to add you. You will need to provide your email address and Ranking ID to the team manager so they can add you to their team.
Team membership additions/deletions can occur through the first two weeks of a team challenge. After the first two weeks, no further team membership changes can be made for the remainder of the challenge.
